Avoiding Adsense Revenue Sharing Sites?

Posted by admin | December 13, 2008 .

Google adsense is a trusted and reliable monetization option for webmasters and bloggers. Now Google has revised their adsense acceptance policy and they are no more accepting applications for free BlogSpot (blogger.com) domain blogs. To get approved your site must be at least six months old and your domain WHOIS information must match with your adsense application details. In short Google is filtering websites before approving and you are lucky if you are already a member.

Protecting Adsense Publisher ID

There are some adsense revenue sharing sites, forums and article directories that allow members to include ads along with their articles. They use certain type of modules to fix the ad sharing percentage. These modules just need user’s publisher id to display the ads.Adsense revenue sharing is legal and Google provides their own API for this purpose.

  • You have very little or now control on your ads at adsense revenue sharing sites
  • Your account is more vulnerable at these sites as there are more chances of fraudulent clicks
  • Google protects their advertisers more than publishers, you should avoid doing any thing that may result in termination from adsense
  • These revenue sharing sites are not paying from their pockets, your content is adding a lot of value to them

Focusing ON Long Term Goals

All these short term benefits will affect your main goal. If you want to earn a good online living then you have to work with a clear vision and your focus should be on your own site. Adsense is a solution that you can use! Don’t worry about the revenue in the beginning, with the passage of time you will be on your way.

This is incorrect. If you re-read the page you referenced you’ll read this
“A site or third party cannot display our ads, search box, search results, or referral buttons as a result of the actions of any software application such as a toolbar. ”

I have talked to Google specifically about this and they replied back that it is within their guidelines as some sites have multiple owners/managers and using google is a good way to divide up the revenue relatively reasonably.

Thanks Kevin for the correction,I misread adsense policies.I apologize to my readers. But my argument is still very valid. These sites distracts you from your own goals. In the beginning when people see some income from revenue sharing sites but no income or no traffic from their own sites, they tends to focus more on revenue sharing sites rather than working on their own projects. Why you are building content for others, you should build content on your own site to see the greater revenue in the future.

This is my argument and you have full rights to disagree.Any constructive criticism on my thoughts is highly appreciated.
