Should You Write For Search Engines OR Visitors?

Posted by admin | May 16, 2009 .

readersWe all believe that content is the king but how to write content ! Should you target visitors or search engines? I think answer of this question depends on your niche and type of business you are in.

Content For Search Engines

People use many strategies to optimize content for search engines:

  • Writing keyword rich content by using a specific keyword density formula
  • Using misspells in the content to target typos
  • Using keywords in H1 and other heading tags

This type of content is written purely to target search engines! There is zero benefit for users and only ecommerce and product oriented sites can use such content.

Bloggers And Theme Based Webmaster Write For Visitors

If you are a blogger or a theme based webmaster then there is no need to worry about keyword density and other SEO copy writing factors. In my previous post I talked about the importance of natural backlinks and I strongly believe that only natural content can drive natural links ! If you are not providing quality information then no one will link to you. Although you can optimize heading tags, alt attributes, title and meta tags but there should not be any manipulations in the content.

Search engines love unique content and with the passage of time you will get better visibility on Google and other search engines. So, understand what people are searching for in your niche and provide quality information to build credibility and long term relationship with you visitors.
