People use many link building strategies to increase their page rank and SERP. Paid linking is one of those strategies where you pay other webmasters to receive inbound links from relevant and high PR websites.
Why Paid Linking Is Bad?
According to Google buying and selling links is against Google Webmaster guidelines! Paid linking is only allowed if it is done for advertisement purpose with “no follow” attribute but such links don’t have much SEO advantage.
So if you try to be too smart and think that you can get things up quickly by buying links from valued websites then you are living in a fool’s paradise. You must have heard the story of John Chew who used to be NO1 in Google for highly competitive keywords but now he is nowhere in the index.
How Smart Are You?
Some smart people are still doing paid linking quite successfully however I’M not a great fan of this practice because overall quality of search is compromised and it gives an opportunity to scammers to become prominent in search results.
Anyhow If your are interested in paid linking then buying links from web directories is the worst thing you can do for your website! Do it carefully if two webmasters decide to help each other with out making any thing public then Google will hardly come to know about this.
